Theater

The Town Hall Theatre is a unique 1910 vintage theatre that has been restored to its original look. From Oct to May, the Town Hall Opry series is a regular, family-friendly program of guest musicians, specializing in bluegrass music but offering other musical styles as well. In addition, the Out of the Woodwork players, an amateur theater group, makes this space their home and performs live theater throughout the year. Art gallery space is used to feature local artist shows in conjunction with the Town Hall Opry nights, During events, the Jericho Arts Council offers homemade baked goods and popcorn. Antique Stores

Poke around the different antique shops in Bainbridge to see what treasures you find! It’s an easy drive to visit all the shops in one swing in the local antique shopping circuit. At the Barnyard Sales at the Bainbridge House B & B, visitors can shop for treasures in a quaint barn.The Iroquois Antiques and Collectibles is a multi-dealer experience in what used to be the local feed mill. Another multi-dealer shop is Old Hickory Antiques on the north edge of town. Main Street Antiques is right on Main Street and is housed in a vintage early American storefront (Open by Appointment). Sincerely Abraham is an antique shop that is housed in the 1830 Truman house on Main Street (Open by appointment). The vintage items at Harmonie Hall Antiques are displayed in a carriage house, one building of the several on the estate, including a house that dates to 1800. Specialty Stores

No, you won’t find a mall in Bainbridge, but you can have some fun shopping at the unusual specialty stores. At Snips and Snails Children’s Consignment Shop, parents and parents-t0-be can outfit their children’s needs for a bargain. Spend some tiem perusing the unique bulk food items at Pine Ridge Grocery, where people come for baking suppiles, deli meat and hand-made wood crafts, similar to an Amish market. When spring is near, the smell of maple sap boiling for syrup wafts from Baker’s Maple-the sap house also has a store attached that specializes in all sorts of maple-related products.Need some tack for your horse or gifts for the horse enthusiast in your life? At Shupperd’s Tack Shop, you will find a large selection of tack as well as clothing and gifts for the rider. At the Village Florist & Gifts, there’s more than just flowers-early American and primitive gift items fill the extra rooms in this early Bainbridge house.

Restaurants

When you don’t feel like cooking a meal, there are interesting options available to you in Bainbridge that can make a meal an experience. Each restaurant offers a unique dining experience: enjoy the 1950s ambiance at Bob’s Diner (with Back of Bob’s ice cream shop out back); the multiple TVs and a sports bar experience at Highway 7 Bar & Grill; and the best pizza and Italian specialties at Rosa’s Restaurant. For dining early in the day, the S & S Cafe provides breakfast and lunch in a Main Street setting, and the Cream of the Crop Cafe serves mostly lunches and some dinners in a remodeled barn. The China Star restaurant provides an authentic Chinese menu for eat in or take out. At Country Classics, you can get ice cream and grilled items during the summer season. Heading out towards Guilford is the Yaleville Inn, an upscale eating establishment whose reputation for full course gourmet meals and individual attention are known beyond Bainbridge.

Farm Fresh Produce

Whether you like to pick up your food at the farmstand or pick your own produce in the field, there’s no excuse for not getting fresh fruits and vegetables in Bainbridge. From Easter to Halloween, Frog Pond Farms provides a huge array of produce, live farm animals, and greenhouse stock. A visit there is an experience for the whole family. At the other end of town on Route 7, Riverview Farms offers quality produce in a farmstand, conveniently located close to the road. Want to pick your own? Heller’s Farm on the Back River Road is open for strawberry picking in June and blueberries in July/August. The strawberry fields are vast, and picking rotates to different parts of the fields during the season. And from May until October, the Bainbridge Farmer’s Market takes place in the Village Green every Saturday morning when vendors sell fresh product along with bakery items, collectibles and crafts.

Golf Course

A beautiful nine-hole golf course in the rolling hills outside of Bainbridge-the setting is what makes it a special pleasure to go to the Sundown Golf and Country Club in the Town of Bainbridge. Recently, the course has been reconstructed and a new clubhouse built, including a full-service bar and restaurant. Having affordable golf nearby is a nice treat for Bainbridge residents, and golfers can either walk the picturesque course or rent cart.

Christmas Tree Farms

Tucked into the tree-covered landscape around Bainbridge are numerous Christmas tree farms that open their land to people who want the experience of hiking onto the tree lot, choosing the perfect tree for Christmas, and cutting it down themselves. Sipple’s Tree Farm is near the village of Bainbridge along the river, includes a flat tree lot, and also hosts a Christmas gift shop. When you visit Baxter’s Tree Farm near Oquaga Creek State Park, you can enjoy a free hayride into the acres of trees, and free hot chocolate and cider. One other option is Kelsey Brook Tree Farm on a small hillside in the Town of Bainbridge.

Bowling Alley

Galaxy Bowl offers year-round fun with easy access on North Main Street in the Village. The facility includes 10 bowling lanes, a bar and restaurant, and a meeting room that seats up to 50 people. Bowling leagues in the spring and fall take place during the day and Sunday nights, but there is open bowling on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons.
