The Bainbridge-Guilford (B-G) B-G School District was formed in 1962 through the merger of the former Bainbridge and Guilford Central School Districts.

The rural district is set amidst the picturesque rolling hills in the Susquehanna River Valley and extends into 10 towns, covering 100 square miles. The district is located mainly in Chenango County, but also includes portions of Otsego County, Delaware County and Broome County. There are just under 1,000 students in grades preK-12. In 2011, Bainbridge-Guilford High School had 10 students for every full-time equivalent teacher. (The New York average is 13 students per full-time equivalent teacher.) The Board of Education is made up of seven members. Facilities are in excellent condition, made up of three building campuses in three district locations: Guilford Elementary School (preK-1), Greenlawn Elementary School (2-6) and the Middle-High School (7-12).

It is the goal of the B-G School District to educate all students to a higher level of academic performance and foster positive growth in social/emotional behaviors and attitudes.

The B-G School District has a wide offering in athletics with notable state success in wrestling and track & field. It is a member of the Midstate Athletic Conference, which is very competitive in the State Class C and D tournaments. The district has two fully lit fields for potential night games in football and soccer.

The B-G School District routinely graduates students in four years at a percentage well above the state average. Typically 85-90% of graduates continue their education at the college level.
